Bye Bye Bassy?

There is a rumour going around that the Blazers may ship Telfair to Boston for Dickau and the number 7 pick. Since there is some chance either Roy or Gay could be there at 7, let's just say I could not be more giddy about this idea.

Blazers: Please, please, please pull the trigger on this one.

This may also be a sign that I was right when I predicted Jack would be the PG of the future the moment he was drafted, only a year after they completely botched their pick and took Telfair about 13 picks early.

More on the draft tomorrow.

Looks like Portland made that trade which I think is fantastic.

Here's my top 10 prediction:

1. Bargnani
2. Ty Thomas (will be part of a trade)
3. Morrison (Word is it is Gay or Morrison and even though word is Jordan doesn't like Morrison, he may be gunshy about passing on a guy like this after the whole Kwame fiasco)
4. Aldridge (The right pick anyway and Charlotte would be doing the Blazers a huge PR favor by picking Morrison)
5. Sheldon Williams (could be Roy and then a trade, but I think Atlanta doesn't want what Houston has to offer and this is their guy, but it's a mistake)
6. Roy (I think they'll decide that if they keep KG, they need his toughness and either way who knows if McCants is ever coming back)
7. Gay (best case scenario for PDX. In the first two picks they have their replacements for Zebo and Miles and can keep trying to offload those guys to the knicks)
8. Foye (would be Reddick if not for his back which will be all too familiar to Houston. by the way, I think Foye is going to be great)
9. O'Bryant (the only guy they care about and this is only if they can't swing a trade, but I don't think they can and so he's their guy)
10. Simmons (for NJ, though I wonder if they couldn't be the missing 3rd team in the AI to Boston deal. Maybe Philly gets Rashard and Swift or something like that)

Some quick thoughts

A few quick sports thoughts for you today: I don’t understand why people don’t talk about how much Tyler Hansborough looks like a really tall Frodo Baggins. Also, why does he have such a bad haircut? I think the teams in the Western Conference should be afraid of Denver. They are playing as well as anyone outside of LA and Melo hasn’t even started playing well yet. What if this is the year that Nene and Kmart actually stay healthy and Karl becomes a big game coach? Oh yeah, forget everything I just said. Oh well, at least the trade helped Billups on my fantasy team. I can’t figure out why the Blazers don’t throw lobs to Oden. There is no play where this is even attempted. Yeah, he is still getting his legs back and doesn’t jump out of the gym, but he jumps well and is 7 freakin feat tall. Do the Blazers (other than Sergio) not know how? Does coach Nate hate lobs? It seems like Oden could get 8 points a game just by either running to the hoop on pick and rolls like Tyson Chand...
SOME PLAYOFF OBSERVATIONS I just took a welcomed brake from preparing for trial to watch the Miami v. Detroit game 3. Obviously this was a huge game for Miami and the next one is just as big, but I’m not chiming in to break down the game, but rather to offer a few observations about both the series going on right now. 1. Why do Antoine Walker’s coaches allow him to shoot so many 3s? If I were coaching him, I would tell him that if he ever shot a 3 that wasn’t wide, wide open or if his 3 to drive ratio fell below 5-1, he would sit the bench. Walker is an incredibly talented player and when he attacks the rim both he and the Heat are a much, much, much better team. When you play defense like a matador, you better do more than just miss a bunch of 3s on the other end. He was great tonight just because he took the ball in. It’s not complicated, so why is it so inconsistent? 2. What happened to Gary Payton? He was one of my favorite players for years and years after leaving OSU and playing ...

The Return?

I've been posting on Facebook but I think I may be getting ready to expand my platform.  If you have interest in sports and especially the NBA, NFL, College football and basketball and the MLB, then stay tuned.  Something fun could be on its way for this site.
